Usually the first Sunday of each month, please join us for silent, soaking prayer led by Katrin van der Vaart in the youth room. If you’re unsure where this is, feel free to ask Wright or Christine to lead you there as you arrive.
Do you find it difficult to set aside time to listen to the Lord? Silent soaking prayer may be what you are looking for.
WHAT: 70 minutes of quiet time to be in God’s presence.
WHO: You, God, and a team of our prayer ministers.
WHAT TO BRING: A blanket, long sleeves (if you get chilled by air conditioning), Bible, journal, and an expectant heart.
HOW DOES IT WORK? From 8.30–9.40am, the room is open for silent prayer facilitated by gentle, worshipful music. Bring a blanket and pillows if you prefer to stretch out before the Lord. Small cards are provided for written prayer requests. Prayer ministers circulate and silently/quietly pray over all who come and for any written requests. The prayer ministers won’t speak to you during this time, as the point is for you to hear from God. You may sit, sit and journal, or stretch out on the floor, whatever helps you receive from the Lord and doesn’t disturb others. Stay as long as you like and leave quietly whenever you wish.
